●    THE PERSON BEHIND PMT

Hi, I’m Amy,

a board-certified music therapist and mom of two.

I’ve spent my career in pediatric medical settings, learning alongside patients, families, and colleagues. Being a parent also shapes how I approach that work. PMT is where I share what I’ve learned, with practical resources for music therapists and students, and clear, approachable tools for families.

Whether you’re preparing for a session or helping your child through medical care, I hope you find something here you can use.

A little about my work

Most of my experience has been in pediatric oncology. I’ve worked with patients through medical procedures, new diagnoses, long admissions, grief and end-of-life care.

Alongside my clinical work, I’ve been involved in research, teaching, and presenting at conferences. These experiences shape what I share through PMT: practical resources grounded in both research and day-to-day care.

●    MY STORY

How PMT started

When I was helping establish a music therapy program early in my career, I wanted practical, honest guidance.

I started creating and sharing resources, and that grew into PMT. It’s continued to take shape through my clinical work and conversations with music therapists and students around the world.
