Music & resources to support medical moments

My Story
From the moment I began my training as a music therapist, I knew I wanted to work in a children’s hospital.
Maybe it was the patients’ fierce resilience. Maybe it was the clarity kids often bring to grown-up spaces. Maybe (just maybe) it was the strangely comforting smell of disinfectant wipes.
Early in my career, I launched a brand-new music therapy program at a children’s hospital. Like many pediatric music therapists, I was navigating a steep learning curve—new procedures, heavy caseloads, hard moments that stayed with me. I’ve asked myself more than once: Where do I stand during a lumbar puncture? Why didn’t we get a crash course in medical lingo?
I created Pediatric Music Therapy as a place for therapists like me to find answers, connect with one another, and feel empowered to grow in this unique, challenging, and beautiful work.
Now, that mission is expanding.
Over time, I saw how music could reach beyond the session into waiting rooms, long drives home, and quiet moments when no music therapist is present. So I began writing music for those moments, too.
Today, Pediatric Music Therapy is a community and resource hub for both professionals and families—offering songs, tools, and clinical support designed to make the medical world more human, accessible, and connected.
Thanks for being here.
